Easter Holiday is just around the corner. With well-served meals, family hygge time and fun activities. One of our favourite activities is making Easter decorations like these cute Easter ornaments made from salt dough. I have made this DIY guide for you and your family to enjoy. Just follow the guide below.
Things you need to make the salt dough
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of fine table salt
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
Things you need to decorate your ornaments
- Cookie cutters (of your own choice)
- Dried flowers (of your own choice)
- Rolling pin
- Watercolours
- Paint brushes
- String (optional)
Step 1 - Mix ingredients
Mix flour and salt together in a bowl. Slowly add water and cooking oil, a few tablespoons at a time, into flour mixture until dough is smooth and easy to handle.
Step 2 - Cut out the ornaments
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut out your chosen motifs.
Step 3 - Add flower pattern
Garnish each ornament with your chosen dried flowers and gently press them into the dough. When your pattern is done gently remove the dried flowers.
Note: Make a small hole if you want to hang up your ornaments.
Step 4 - Bake the ornaments
When your ornaments are done bake them at 120 degrees celsius for 3 hours.
Step 5 - Decorate the ornaments
Make sure your ornaments are completely cooled. Next decorate them with watercolours.
Step 6 - Hang the ornaments on a branch, in your window... (optional)
When you're done decorating them cut a string and hang them wherever you want to spread the joy :)
