THE BENEFITS OF JOURNALING
This week, we're shining a light on the beauty and benefits of journaling. Writing down your thoughts and feelings can offer a unique clarity—helping you connect with who you are, identify what challenges you, and explore your dreams and aspirations.
Whether you’re an experienced journaler or just beginning, starting a journaling practice can create powerful moments of reflection.
Journaling invites those small, analog pauses that can make a big difference in your life—a chance to slow down, reflect, and let your thoughts flow freely onto paper.
Julie, our founder, shares the benefits of writing, the importance of analog breaks, and one of her favorite writing exercises to help you get started. Julie also opens her own journal to show two inspiring examples, giving you a glimpse into her journaling.
3 TIPS TO BEGIN YOUR JOURNALING JOURNEY
Tip 1: Write When You Feel Like It
Maybe you feel like writing every day. Maybe that’s too much. Remember, you’re a writer, whether you write every day or once a month. Let the desire drive the work!
Tip 2: Don’t Overthink It
Let your thoughts flow without judging or editing. Write freely, and remember that there’s no "right" or "wrong" way to journal. This is your space to express, explore, and reflect.
Tip 3: Use Prompts When You’re Stuck
If you’re not sure where to begin, start with a simple question like, “What went well today?” or “What do I need most right now?” Visual prompts like stickers, washi tape, and colorful pens can also spark inspiration and make journaling more engaging.
