Each of our cards is crafted with respect and care for the environment. Our greeting cards are made in Denmark with high-quality Swedish paper—sourced from one of the world’s most sustainable paper mills. This ensures low water usage, reduced emissions, and a lighter footprint on the planet.

The soft, creme white Swedish paper is both FSC-certified and Nordic Swan-labeled. With every unique hand-painted illustration and thoughtful message, our goal is to spread joy—one handwritten note at a time.

Shipping

We ship all orders from Denmark to various countries worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and depend on the destination:

- International Orders: Shipping fees range between 95 and 750 DKK, depending on the country. Deliveries are handled by GLS or UPS. Find your specific shipping fee here.

- Within Denmark: A shipment fee of 40 DKK applies (free on orders above 400 DKK). Orders are delivered via GLS to a nearby "pakkeshop".


Returns

If you're not satisfied with your purchase, we accept returns and exchanges of online orders within 14 days from the date of reception. Items must be returned in their original packaging and condition. Returns are processed at your own risk and expense.

The Making of Our Greeting Cards

Every Kartotek Copenhagen greeting card begins with an idea—something simple, heartfelt, and meaningful.

That idea is then brought to life through a hand-painted gouache illustration. Using soft, layered brushstrokes and carefully chosen colors, we create artwork that feels warm, personal, and timeless. The richness and texture of gouache allow for expressive details, giving each illustration its own unique character.

Once the illustration is complete, it’s transformed into a digital file and paired with a short, thoughtful message.

Then, it’s off to our trusted Danish print house, where it’s printed on 300 gsm high-quality Swedish creme white paper. Finally, each card is packed with a classic Kraft envelope—ready to be sent, gifted, or treasured.

All our greeting cards are proudly printed in Denmark and certified with both the FSC and Nordic Swan labels, ensuring sustainability without compromising on quality.

Receiving a hand-written card is always very joyful. We rarely do that anymore due to all our electronic messaging
- and so it's a special gesture that we really appreciate when someone has taken the time to actually write and send a letter.
